On August 16, 1977; Elvis and his girlfriend, Ginger Alden, were sitting on the couch at Graceland talking when Elvis told Ginger that he needed to use the restroom. He had been in there for a long time. Ginger finally went to the door and asked Elvis if he was alright. He said that he was fine. Ginger went and sat back down on the couch. Ginger realized that it had been a while since she checked on Elvis so she went to the door, knocked and asked if he was alright. This time, there was no answer. She then knocked on the door and asked him again. She did this several times for quite a while and didn't recieve a single reply. She realized that maybe she should open the door. It was locked. She finally got the door opened but was terrified to see that Elvis was face down, in-dispose, and his face was completely blue. Ginger screamed for help and a few of the guards ran upstairs to find what she had been screaming about. An ambulance was finally notified and they immediately took Elvis to the Baptist Memorial Hospital. The doctors and nurses tried to revive him for over 3 hours when suddenly, someone in the back of the room said: "just let the poor boy rest."

Elvis Aaron Presley died at home at Graceland. Although it was true there were drugs in his system, it wasn't an overdose. His heart failed him due to over-eating, lack of rest and of course his drug problems. When Elvis was found, there were thousands and thousands of pills spilled over on his night-stand next to his bed. When they ran test's on him, they had found that Elvis had been taking over 100 different pills in one full day. Elvis never let anyone into his bedroom up until this point. On August 18, 1977; Elvis is buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in Memphis next to his mother, Gladys. In October of 1977; the bodies of Elvis and his mother are moved to Graceland. On June 26, 1979; Vernon Elvis Presley died and will be reunited with his son and wife.

In the 1950's, Elvis rocked the country with his Rockabilly ways. In the 1960's, he made many, many beautiful actresses melt with his hypnotizing eyes during the filming of his movies. Then come 1968, he reunited himself with music and live performing. During the early 1970's, he had some up's and down's but was able to lift himself up. While in the mid to late 1970's, Elvis hit what you would call "Rock Bottom"! Although Elvis died on that day in August, he went out with a bang. Today, Elvis still rocks the nation. Without Elvis, music would not be the way it is today. A lot of people beg to differ; but think about it. Elvis came into music in 1954 with his swaying hips, sexy moves and anything but correct. Parents, teachers and many political individuals did not approve of him. Eventually, he began to grow on people. They began to realize to look at this young boy. Take away his looks and what he does on stage. Then, all you have left his a beautiful voice and a nice young man. Elvis was the entertainer that changed Rock N' Roll history. Even though music is not the same and it's changing just about everyday, music still has the same affect and feeling on people today as it did during the King's time. Elvis tried to teach everybody out there including other musicians, to just have fun and enjoy life while you can. Many people that are not from Elvis' generation do not like Elvis' type of music. It was Rockabilly, Blues, Country and of course, "Rock N' Roll. Today's music is completely different in many ways. But, The history of Elvis Presley would change anybodies point of view on the music industry and the types of music that's been evolving all these years!
